NURSES: the deadline to renew your license was June 30, 2024.  If you need to reinstate your nursing license, please complete and submit the request form: https://idfpr.illinois.gov/dpr/reactivate-your-license.html. A reinstatement packet will be provided for licenses which expired or went inactive less than five years ago.  If you have questions, please call 1-800-560-6420.

Continuing Nursing Education

CE REQUIREMENTS

As required by the Act, all nurses shall complete continuing education as follows:

RN Licensure Renewal: 20 hours of approved Continuing Education will be required for the June 1, 2024, through May 31, 2026, license renewal cycle.

APRN Licensure Renewal: 80 hours of approved Continuing Education will be required for the June 1, 2024, through May 31, 2026, license renewal cycle.

LPN Licensure Renewal: 20 hours of approved Continuing Education will be required for the February 1, 2023, through January 31, 2025, license renewal cycle.
